Imposter syndrome can be described as feelings of inadequacy despite evidence of success. This can be feeling ‘I was just lucky’, or ‘It’s my fault’ when something goes wrong.
When these feelings build up over a long period of time, it can lead to burnout, increased anxiety, and depression.
