The Government has announced that West Yorkshire will join the country in a national lockdown to help control the spread of Covid-19. The new rules will come into effect on Thursday, 5th November 2020 and are expected to be in place for 4 weeks.

New rules include:

  • People from different households must not meet with others indoors
  • People from different households must not meet outdoors, other than in public spaces like parks or beaches 
  • You can only meet 1 person outdoors
  • You must not travel to areas outside of West Yorkshire
  • You can exercise outdoors with 1 other person
  • Pubs and restaurants will close
  • All non-essential shops will close
  • Supermarkets, food shops, pharmacies and petrol stations will stay open
