After a long awaited 12 months, the Tokyo Olympic Games are starting on Friday 23rd July 2021 until Sunday 8th August 2021; though some events are occurring from the 21st July.

The Olympic Games are said to have been founded by the legendary Heracles, in Ancient Greece, as a competition between different city states, though the first modern games commenced in 1896.

The colours of the five Olympic rings include colours from all of the competing nation’s flags and represent the five continents.
