Volunteers Week is celebrated between 1st and 7th June, and is a time to show appreciation to all those who have volunteered in some way. It therefore seems fitting to take this opportunity to look at ways we can all volunteer a bit more, and the benefits we can experience from it 🌍

The benefits of volunteering can be enormous, as it offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer 🤝

Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. With COVID-19 changing the way we interact with each other, there are plenty of ways you can still volunteer while staying safe. Giving in simple ways can help those in need and improve your health and happiness ❤️

And to all of you who have volunteered in some way big or small – Thank You! 🌟
