Earlier this year, the team at Go Ape Temple Newsam chose Leeds Autism Services as their charity partner for 2019.

We are working in partnership to improve accessibility to the treetop adventure site by delivering autism awareness training for the staff team. This should enable the site to be better equipped to support groups with Learning Disabilities and Autism.

We first started by creating an Easy-Read version of the Go Ape Safety Rules. This incorporated photographs and Easy-on-the-I images to help people better understand how to use the equipment safely.

In return, Go Ape invited a group from Leeds Autism Services to have a go on the outdoor adventure course and try out the tarzan swing, tree-to-tree zip lines and free-fall plummet. View our adventure here.

To further support Leeds Autism Services, Go Ape ran a ‘Summer Raffle Fundraiser’ and offered customers the chance to WIN a family adventure for 4. The lucky winner's were The McDonagh family from Leeds. Congratulations! We hope you have as much fun as we did, swinging through the trees with your tribe!
